Pointers

Truly, there is nothing to be done—only to see.

*****

You think you are the shape of the pot. But actually, you are the spaciousness within it and beyond it.

*****

The awareness in me is absolutely the same as it is in you. But I am aware that that awareness is there. Or even better phrased: There is the awareness that awareness is present.

*****

I wish you could see the simplicity of all of this. That's all that is being pointed to here.

*****

Knowing that you are nothing, and yet everything, is beyond any words that you could say about it. I mean, why even try to describe the feeling. It is nothing that you can adequately capture.

*****

Who is looking for what? There is no "who"; awareness is all there is, and you are that!

*****

Have a cup of tea or coffee. Feel the quiet and spaciousness around that ordinary and everyday occurrence. It just may lead you to something deeper.

*****

Nisargadatta said, "A quiet mind is all you need." And that's true. But he is not saying to try to keep the mind quiet or attempt to sustain a period of quietness for some sort of attainment. For you can't get there from there!

*****

Spiritual journeys are activities that more and more people think that have to take. But you are already what you are before you purchase the bus or plane ticket! So what is it that is being pointed to here? Can you find that for yourself, right here and now. Something is present, and you are it...Again, something is present, and you are it. Feel the presence to what that is pointing to.

"I like your approach in A Vastness All Around. The stories, thoughts and vignettes of your life seem wonderful ways to make people stop and pay attention to where they actually are right now, rather than in some imagined past or future. They show that you don't have to be some specially qualified person, preferably with a title and a name in Sanskrit, to pursue the spiritual quest. Your message comes across particularly well in such pieces as 'Sheerness of Being.'"
